Street Ball Showdown is a one-on-one basketball game presented by Scion, a brand of vehicles produced by Toyota. Toyota's expertise may be automobiles, but they still did a great job with this basketball game (or at least they hired some good developers).

In Street Ball Showdown, you portray a street baller in a one-on-one game against an AI opponent. In order to advance to the next stage, you must reach a score of at least eleven baskets and beat your opponent by at least two points. Style points are earned by performing tricks and "taking your opponent to school", but fundamentals are all that you will need to advance in this sports game.

If you want to "ball out of control" in Street Ball Showdown, then you will have to learn the controls. Your player follows the movements of your mouse. When you are in possession of the ball, click the left mouse button to shoot. Click and hold the left mouse button to perform a slam dunk. Press the spacebar to perform trick shots, or hold the spacebar while clicking the left mouse button to fake. Defensive controls are less convoluted in this basketball game; just click the left mouse button to block shots and press the spacebar to steal the ball.

Each successful shot or dunk in Street Ball Showdown earns one basket, with the exception of shots from behind the arc which earn two baskets. You can advance in this sports game by scoring baskets alone, but if you really want to be a baller, you will have to have style. Style points are earned by faking out your opponent and performing tricks to raise the funkmeter in the upper-left corner of the screen. When you have raised this bar to the points where "it is so funky that you have to say uh", you will earn bonus style points for sinking baskets, but if your opponent scores against you, you will lose your funk and bonus point multiplier. Keep in mind that style points do not contribute to the number of baskets scored in this basketball game; you will still have to score eleven baskets and beat your opponent by two in order to advance to the next stage.
